have not pitched one in a few years myself , used to use them frequently when I went out in a boat more often , even left a few on the brush piles a time or 2 .....
they are handy for sure in some cases , open water can be very deceiving, and you might just go in circles for a good bit trying to find what you just saw .......

there are times when they are just not on the brushpiles I fish.

MO ... when I "troll" jigs, or Push jigs, the last thing I want out there is a string of markers. I let my Livescope show me where NOT to go, and my Hook unit to show me the contour map.
HA!! I have probably 4 or 5 markers that reside in my boat''s storage compartment at all times ... but haven't used one in decades. Even back then (pre-Livescope) I would only put out one to mark a spot, then pull it up and drop it again at the next spot.
