Thank you everyone. As expected, when the spinal block wore off, my knee felt like it was it on both sides by a couple 20lb pledges at the same time. Ooooch!!! Been up and walked a bit around the room with supervisor, Nurse right there with a safety belt around my chest. BEEN doing the ankle exercises, leg lifts, and can bend my knee moving my foot about 12 inches...also foot slides to bend knee, and the lightning of the glutamus maximus.
PT just took me down the hall to explain the getting in and out of the car, tub, and going up a single step with the walker. Have to do the exercises every hour as well as walk every hour for no more than 5 min. Already have my leg straight tp 5* and bent to a tad over 90* sitting on the edge of the bed. All of which is better than average. The dr.'s PA said the old knee was tore up from the ground up..
Will be going home today...woohoo!!!
