As I posted earlier, my buddy got a live scope and I really enjoyed it. It has a lot of benefits to it, but I do love long lining and rigging also. My question is I have all hummingbird on my boat brand new GEN four units three of them I was wondering if anyone is running mega alive And what is your thoughts on it? I know they say it’s not as good as live scope but is it close? This would save me a lot of money and keep me from having to buy fishfinder. If you could, if anyone has any photos of their mega live like on Brush pals or any photos at all if you could share them, I would truly appreciate it thank you for taking the time to read my post and possibly answering my post. Have a blessed day.

I had a Helix 9 that was compatible so I was in the same boat as you. Got the MEGA live on sale awhile back so I figured why not try it. I have some power work to do over the winter as right now I have my live plugged into a 12 volt outlet at the bow that is powered from my main battery. I plan to run it to a dedicated power source and clean things up some. Overall I like the live though as it helps me determine if fish are on the brush before I even start fishing it. If not I move to the next. I jig and spider rig with it. There are used units for sale on bass boat central website...one guy just posted a new one not used for $750.

I have only used Humminbirds,
so I can’t really compare. But with the latest software updates, I figure if a person knows what he’s doing -
I don’t - it isn’t far behind?

My buddy has megalive & i've never saw any problem whatsoever with it. It's clear as can be.
Only mildly trying to stir the pot since I don't have megalive despite having a Gen4 Helix mounted beside my livescope for 2-D and side imaging but I can say if you ever get the opportunity to go to any major crappie tournament anywhere in the country you won't see a megalive on any boats. Just saying IMHO. Scott
Felt guilty about my post without saying that I bought into livescope before megalive was a thing. That being said any FFS mega, active target or livescope is a game changer at least for me. If i was trying to keep my cost down and already had a compatible humminbird I would get it. They are all good but IMHO livescope is still the best. Scott
I have Mega Live and Livescope 34 on my Excel. With the upgrades Humminbird has made, I feel they are very close to the same except when casting to targets 30 or more feet away. There I give the LVS 34 the better review.
I have shown my Mega Live screen to clients who were very impressed with how close the two units are when comparing the two.

I use the One Boat Network app. Any time there is a new update on any of my Birds or MinnKotas, I get a notice.
Got two new Solix 12s sitting in the boat. Waiting on a dash bracket from Precision Sonar then Rickie and I will be switching out my Helix 12 in-dash and Helix 10 on top of console. Once I enter those into the One Boat Network, I’ll be able to update them from my phone. Sure beats downloading SD cards.
