Thank you for this, Danny, and thank you all for your prayers. We haven't been on in quite awhile but some of the "older" members may remember Crappie Stalker aka Paul Pauls. He got his first pacemaker at age 27 in 1995 because of A-fib. He's never really had any complications until now. A small area of skin over his pacemaker became infected and then split open. Now a small part of the generator has become exposed. Since this is a direct path to his heart, the entire thing has to be removed. There's only one doctor in our area that can do it, and luckily, he's here. It's removed by laser burning In Paul's case, there's so much scar tissue (because that lead has been in there 30 years) that it makes the procedure much riskier. There is a possibility they'll have to switch to open heart surgery if there are complications. He's been on iv antibiotics since Friday night and seems like the infection is in check. The great news is that his new pacemaker will be very small, implanted directly in the heart and no leads!

Surgery went better than anticipated. Did not have to crack open his chest. In a room. Please continue praying for healing. Thank you . Crappie.com members are awesome.
