Sounds about right. The cheap brands are all china throwaway companies making batteries out of recycled cells from automative/solar industry and then selling under another throwaway company in the USA on amazon. If they have a website, they don't care about the customers and will just give a run-around until you give up, when they have enough negative reviews they simply change the company name and start over.

The exception are resellers who buy from china and resell in the usa as a legit company, they are almost always in California. They will work with you somewhat but they still dont want a return because they cant get any refunds from the back lot fake China factory they imported them from.
