Why on earth should a letter go from this city, 3-1/2 hours away to another city, across the river to another city and state, through yet another city in the other state, only to return to the original city to go through yet two more distribution centers before reaching the post office that makes the deliveries??? Woke job security is my only guess... Not trying to be Political here.
You’d have to go back to 1970 to get political about the post office. Since then they have been on their own. They are not federal employees. No federal retirement. No tax dollars go to it. It’s pretty much operates as a private business that is in a financial mess.
