All good ideas and systems so far, I like em. I’m the easiest guy at the ramp. Being as my schedule has been dumb for years, I’ve fished alone a lot. This meant launching and recovering the same way. Batteries stay charged, always ready for a quick, short trip. Plug hardly gets taken out of this boat but the routine is to check when you connect. If your fuel was low atthe end of the last trip, then gas up on the way home or in my case just pick up another 3 gallons of 100% asap. Small motors have their advantages. One that is really strong in my way of doing things is borrowing. All of your boat gear doesn’t get borrowed for other purposes and therefore is never forgotten to be returned. Rigged and ready and not the did I forget something game. We have enough to remember like ice and food and protection and setting the alarm for different times than usual. Taking things off of the remember list makes the pre checks go so much quicker and organized.
And about distractions, if you get distracted, go back to the beginning. There just is no better way of insuring that nothing slips thru the cracks. I have to do it myself and no one is any different.
