If I'm Livescope flippin' in water less than 10' deep .... I'm doing it from 10-15' away, and slow rolling the jig(s) over the top of the cover. That is, IF there's fish showing above the cover. If the fish are down in the cover or beside it, then I'll switch to a single weedless jig and slowly drag it over/thru/by that cover.
I'm "flippin" with a 12' rod & (usually) a double jig rig (open hook jigs). But, if I'm casting a single jig into cover, it's with a 8' rod & a single weedless jig.
Depending on which rods I take .... single jig casting I'm using a 6'6" rod, a 7' rod, or even a 10' rod.
