    The silver rectangular things on the circuit board in the second pic are the buttons. Nothing to access to clean.

    I know a lot of issues with boards the soldering gets a crack or comes undone. Might try reheating solder areas.

    Yes, brand new battery, and the down button does work, so it just the up button that's broken.

    On the backside of the circuit board it appears the sottering is missing. Not sure if that would make a difference.

    Wowser. I took the circuit board to the boat without the cover and all, just to play with the buttons to see if I could get them to work, and they did. The down always did work, but the up worked, yay. So now I just gotta see why the case is not making good contact. YAY ME. Save some $60-$80 even if I could find one. Thanks for the push to try to clean it all and making me look closer at it y'all. Crappie fishermen are the best.
