I know that I have been saying over and over again that it has been very difficult to draw a strike from these beautiful crappie, but today was unbelievably hard. I was over fish, but they were sooo....inactive. I missed several bites if you could call them that were so subtle it made the heat of summer bites feel like a take down. My first hundred fish of year have not been easy, I am at 96 now and it may be April before I get them. Not complaining though, and these fish are going to have free choices for the greatest bed sites and no one will be able to bother them. I think some of those big ones had no choice but to spawn, and that's why I am seeing the still giant, but smaller fish. If I can get to some beds,I bet I will catch some really black ones very soon, and on the next full moon.
