Finding crappies

Around here as of yesterday the water temperature was 58 degrees, do I need to look shallower than the channels and drop offs in deeper water, these fish here are staging for spawning, and I agree that all the crappie don’t spawn at the same time. Been looking at the mouth of coves, see lots of small fish, just no big ens on the livescope. But it’s windy windy windy today so I’m sitting here wishing I was fishin.

Any North side of the lake with coves and shallow dark bottom early spring ( especially after ice out ) this is where I start my search, any warmer water will draw in all species of fish.

if there were black crappie present in your lake I would look in less than 15 foot of water this time of year with 58 degree water temps. on the north end near a steep rocky bank with a quick drop off near it , never mind the bait , go find them prespawn puppies ....
and I would drop the brightest ORANGE small handtie in my box as well ....might work
