    I've bought several 2000 & 2500 fx reels & really like them for crappie on my livescope rods.

    Quantum Optix are really nice. Smooth winding and smooth drag. They were @ $20 a year or two ago, probably $30 now.

    I would go with Shimano Sienna myself. It is a good reel for under $40.

    I used Sienna's for years. Good reel. Braid is an absolute nightmare for beginners. I will constantly be wrapped around the tip of the rod.
