Winter time longlining

All my rigs that I had made up today were 1/8 on bottom and 1/16 on top. Trying to fish anywhere between 8' and 16' of water. I know if I creep the speed up a little bit I can get them off the bottom but I don't think they're ready for that yet.

My main concern would be .... at that speed, the jigs would still be more or less in a straight line, rather than one above the other. Also, of course, is how much line you have out. I'd shorten that up before I'd "creep the speed up a little bit".

Or you could raise the angle of your rod tips.
