It did find some timing pulleys in 10mm D bore. A little lathe work and you could have a D bushing to press fit in your original hub once it was bored out. The pulleys came up under electric skateboard builds. I searched 10mm D pulley.
What I believe is that the aluminum hub is flexing under the torque. When I remove the set screws, It's like they are cross threaded. Something gets stretched out of shape. My theory.
Might think about drilling all the way thru the D shaft and into the housing on the other side ... then use a thru pin (thru pins can be found with a knurled section on one end to “grip” into the housing and not allow the pin to back out) ...
Or use a spring pin (slotted spring steel pin makes tight fit) ...
Just use the correct drill bit for the pin to be used ...

That D shaped shaft certainly has alot of mechanical advantage over that set screw protruding into that void unsupportedQuote:
