I had my left shoulder replaced on 11/9. It was a total reverse surgery. My healing is going well. My arm is all kind of nasty colors from my neck to my fingers. They had to relocate some damaged ligaments. I may get some pics of the wild colors and consider painting some cranks those colors. Always thinking about something that might catch crappie!
I want to thank those who have sent PMs, texts, or called to check on me. I had my PT evaluation on Tuesday and start PT on Monday. I will be cleared to drive on Tuesday.
This surgery means I’ve now had both shoulders, both hips, and both knees replaced since 2018. I also had L5/S1 fusion surgery on my back. I’ve asked lots of medical types why all of a sudden I lost the cartridge in all those joints? I worked in the chemical industry for 3 decades and was exposed to some terrible chemicals. I also carried too much weight in a job that was heavy repetitive lifting in a 5 story plant that had no elevators and was all concrete and steel grating. Many of my co-workers are also having joint issues.
We can’t change what has already happened.
I urge any of you here who has questions or concerns about joint surgery to feel free to contact me. I have a wonderful orthopedic surgeon who I trust completely. When a surgeon gets on his knees and holds your hand while praying for his patient and his staff prior to surgery, you have to feel he has his priorities straight.
I’m not a Dr and don’t play one on TV. I can only tell you of my experiences concerning my joint issues and maybe give somebody the confidence they need to make their own surgical decisions. Just know you will always be welcome to ask me.
See you on the lake soon!
