Live well trap door

I'm looking for a way to add a swinging door to the top of my live well. Anybody ever done it? Can I just buy one? Anybody got one and hate it?

Shouldn't be that awfully hard to accomplish. They make spring loaded/ self closing hinges.

In my 20's I framed houses for a living and now I work in a steel mill. Let's just say that trim work is not my strong suit. LoL

Go to Walmart and buy this:

Robot or human?

Cut a hole to suit in the top of your cooler and use RTV to seal the top to the cooler. Use the rest of the can as a regular trash can.

I don't have a picture as I sold it with the boat.

Is your live well not actually a part of a deck? Both of my live wells have weight bearing lids. A swinging lid would be disastrous

I've bought hatch covers off from ebay for a couple of boats I've redone. They come mounted on a frame, you just cut a hole the right size and screw in place. this is what they look like once mounted
