    Default The fall bite

Crappie seem to be in the mode to cooperate with anglers right now. Lots of folks showing off fat fish from all around the state of Texas. Most of my recent visits to the water have been producing some good size fish. The bank ketchn program has been quite productive and some of the fish are really nice.
I been visiting a spot on the Trinity River a few times a week that has been good in past years and it has been good stuff about 4 to 6 foot under a float really close to bridge columns, the time to jig a jig is upon us they are liking it moving around a good bit and often knock fire out of a jig right after it stops twitching.
Colors seem to be best with some chart and or white in them and most of the takes occur shortly after the cast and or first few twitches of the jig. Some are taking it on the fall before the float even gets to stand up!
Been hitting them on my lunch breaks during the week and it's been just for fun.
Water depth seems to be around 12 foot deep, and fish seem to be about mid water column. Off species are often in the mix of bites and the sunfish seem to be not in the areas mentioned.
go get ya some KABOOM is the word
