    Default Light Chop, Light Lunch

Well friends, I’m back at it. Took the boat out first time since having major heart surgery on June 20. The water had light chop, but the cooler temps felt awesome.

I ran the motor for a bit and she ran great. Then circled back to try my luck with the long pole. They were sort of hard to find and to be sure, the bite was light!

After my bait succumbed to what I believe to be a Christmas tree, I sort of got in the zone. Caught about a half dozen, but most were dinky. Perhaps I could have kept 4 or 5, but decided to only keep a couple good ones. They will make for a nice snack with wife’s homemade tartar sauce y’all!

The black crappie had a nice Mohawk and a beautiful yellow hue to it. White crappie was pretty standard as they come. As the rain drew nearer and I heard thunder in the distance, alas, I fired up the trusty Minnow and headed back.

After cleaning the fish, went out to put the boat up and it was raining pretty good. I couldn’t have timed it better if I tried. I’m still a bit slower than I was getting in and out of the boat, but one things for sure…Slab Apprentice is back baby!!!

    God bless y’all. Name: IMG_1321.jpg

I'm sure it is a great feeling to get back to a pre-surgery activity. Glad it went well and don't worry, your get up and go will return. Keep at 'em!
