1/8 sinks way to fast to cast most of the time ,,,,1/16 is about best ,with a 1/32 on the top of the list for casting .
now mind you I am ONLY after crappie , not just whatever might bite ....
like my 6 foot Dobyns colt series alot , but also use a 7 foot prototype rod and a few others too.
what suits me today ,might not tomorrow , depends on casting distances , with or wthout a float and line weights and if I might drop to a 1/32 on the trip and so on and so forth .
