    Default Weathered the “storm”

Had been keeping an eye on the weather leading up to my trip yesterday and almost threw in the towel due to a 60% chance of thunderstorms in the area I would be in. No other good opportunity for me this week so I decided to buy myself a poncho and hope for the best. Woke up to partly cloudy conditions with the occasional lightning flash here and there but my desire to feel the thump kept me on the road. Arrived to the lake finally got on the water and rained for a total of 15 minutes of course water conditions weren’t great but I did manage to find a few under some docks and a couple pontoons. All together probably pulled in between 20-25 with the majority being under the 8inch mark so only ended up with 6 to bring home with one of them being my PB for this particular area it measured at 12.5 in and was caught on a 1/48 oz jig head on a electric chicken itty bitty swim r. I’m guessing due to the cloudy water conditions the bite wasn’t as good as it could have been but it was a blessed time out on the water for sure. Question for all that read this post what is your go to color for cloudy water? Thanks and be blessed.Name: IMG_1574.jpg

Way to tough it out and go. Little rain never hurts. I would say as far as color its more about water color than cloud cover and it can change. I'm not sure there is a definitive answer. Black or dark colors would be at the top of my colors to try list though. Light, dark, high contrast and then bright sort of how I break down my color choices. If I try dark and doesn't work then I try something light, then something high contrast, etc..

Thanks SuperDave336! I may have worded it wrong in my post but yes I meant water clarity not cloud cover. I see what you mean about no definitive answer just enjoy seeing what others seem to have luck with. Thanks again be blessed

TBass.... I've been having good luck with Bobby Garland's Ghastly Minnow and Bone White/Chartreuse colors in stained or dingy water. The Slab Slayer has been on fire all season! I gotta say the Mo Glo baits in these colors will put fish in the boat.

the "right" and or "perfect" color for whatever the condition the water is in eludes me , right when I try to make up my mind the ding dong crappie change their lil pea brain minds , what IS the go to color becomes the they don't want it and what is TOTALLY wrong becomes hot as fire ......go figure
p.s. when all else fails go with hunter safety orange .....
