    Saw a woman try to get out of jury duty by saying she couldn't be impartial. Judge ordered her to show up every day without pay or mileage to learn to appreciate how juries work. Nobody else tried that excuse!

    I got selected for a jury for a trial that started opening day of deer season. The judge asked if there was a reason I couldn't serve. I told him there was no reason but I couldn't guarantee I could concentrate on the trial if I was thinking about the big buck walking past my deer blind and I would be happy to serve any other day. He accepted my reasoning and placed me on a jury for a week later. Sometimes telling the truth works.
