Learning curve for me, way way back in the early 70s we were hunting rabbits on the gulf beach with beagles and occasionally could get a flock of geese come into shotgun range from the sound of the pack driving a rabbit. Well this day we had this one single bird fly over me not knowing it was a comorant I shot and killed it, you know a cajun will try to eat anything. Later that day back at the camp cleaning rabbits is when I got my schooling, you can't pull the feathers out of them birds even standing on his neck using a pair of channel locks. The good ole days.

A feller on the water last week asked me last week "Do you know why these crappie are all wounded?" Yes sir i do. Look behind you. A quarter mile behind him sat 300-400 comorants. I said those are the culprits.

They are fish eating machines . They can eat pretty big fish . I see Crappie with wounds when they appear in large flocks on our lakes .
