I HATE RODENTS!!!!!!

A daily battle all year long on the farm, during the winter we really go full out...poison boxes in every shed, baited snap traps and sticky traps in the cabs of all the parked machinery in the sheds, once a week we check traps and poison boxes.
It really sucks when you hop in your expensive piece of machinery turn the key and all the warning lights and buzzers go off because the rodents have ate through a ecu/ecm harness.

I watched a video of people hunting them with mink and Jack Russell Terriers. They were giving that rodent population fits. Vile critters they are

I've been tolerating Lucky the cat living in the boat thinking he would keep vermin away. Not only do I have wires to fix and turds to clean up, I have cat hair everywhere. I need to have a talk with Lucky.

They also chewed my rubber net to the point there's nothing left.

What do you think about the transducer wires, seems to me they can be spliced but I don't know for sure. Soldered with liquid tape and electrical tape then in a hard plastic protector in case the little buggers come back for seconds.

Instrument cables get spliced all the time. I see no reason the transducer cable can't be spliced. If they are shielded cables. As long as the sheild is spliced also you should be good to go

Exactly what I thought. I took care to not destroy the shielding and will put it back in place best I can.

I have spliced my share of transducer wires due to squirrels and/or mice. I've never had any issues and I did mine the same as you. Good luck - it's no fun!!

The answer, oddly enough, is found at your local Farmers' Coop. The rodents are chewing in search of salt, used in the making of the insulation. I am a ham radio operator (W5CPT) and have wires and coax cables running on, under and all over my yard. None of my cabling has ever been bothered because at the far corner of my yard I have a large salt block. It attracts all manner of critters, including mice, racoons, shrews, birds, LOTS OF deer, skunks and an occasional fox. I still get mice in my outbuildings, but I control them with a rodent poison I also get at my Coop. It comes in little packages of little green blocks. I keep a supply spread out under my workbench and renew it every time the stache runs low.

I never knew that. I am a little careful with the poison. Some of it kills the animal that eats the dead rodent

I've had good luck with this on the ranch FirstStrike Soft Bait
Glue them to a block of wood so they can't pack it off and set it where pets can't get to it. They keep coming back to it until it's gone or it kills them
