If gap in hook eye is your issue, which seems to be more of an issue now a days, switch to a palomar knot or find someone making jig heads with mustad ultra point. They have shorter distance between hook eye shank of hook. This results in hook eye being right at head. Not as flimsy as a hook either like the Daiwa hook.

If that is directed to me I have no problems with the jig head. I like em and see no need to change. As to the hook being flimsy I’ve had no issues with it. It is a fine wire hook for sure but I’ve had no problem landing large fish with these. When using these jig heads I’m only using line that breaks at 2 pounds max….sometimes using 1.8# test line. I’ve never had a hook break even landing tons of drum in the 20 pound class.

I wasn’t saying you didn’t like the head was referring to your comment that you had a years supply left and if you can’t get them no more you’ll have to find something else. Was showing you another option in the event this happens.
Oh…ok….thanks. I have some others that will do and the hooks are just as sharp but don’t like the shape of the heads. Been trying to figure out why the shape of the heads on some of their light game jig heads are the shape they are. I’m sure it has something to do with the presentation of the jig to the horse mackerel….which is what these jig heads are designed to catch. Of course all of this requires a lot of research on my part and then I have to translate it. But I do enjoy it…thanks for the advice.

Was at Wal-Mart today almost picked up a spool of power pro 10# was hoping for 8. I still need to pick up a reel and pole, I like the Shakespeare micro series but don't know how the guides would last.
TWFairweather LIKED above post
probably has been said (9 pages), but
I love braid for vertical fishing and it will out fish mono in my experience
for trolling jigs, mono seems to work better for me and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's that I'm used to mono and know how much to let out, and can see mono better
