Since it has happened to me a few times I can tell you it is a definite plus.

I got rid of the big heavy bass boat and went with a smaller lighter aluminum I can tell the difference. That bass boat you could stand on the front deck through whatever. That aluminum bobs like a cork. I have had to sit down on the floor and let those wake boat rollers go by.
