and with that simple new sign put up at the lake , there you have it , the parking lot was flat out empty .....
of course the reality was a 90% chance of lightning slinging big bad thunderheads and you might get run off by one of them if you have any sense .
I said "if" .......
We launched about 4 and left when a big one danced to close for comfort . It was NOT my day though and to be sure EVERYONE had a new hat and silly me wore a different one ...
we discussed the new lucky hats and I was like whatever .....my bad ...
I slung them quickly at the first stop while they said stop it ketchn ....
and shortly there after it became ,let me get a photo of that fish YOU just ketched .....
I missed more bites yesterday than probably this entire year ...
at one point after 3 really good thumps in a row and complete air hook sets , I examined my hook to see if maybe that was the problem ....
Nope , just not my day it seemed , no new hat and slow on the draw it seems.....![]()
now mind you this , it was so bad for me in the miss the bites department it became comical at one point ....and H was like I never seen you miss more than one and that is rarely ....
So on and on it went , we hit a several locations and found fish at all the stops , left with 18 in the livewell and cut it short due to big bertha on the horizon with her light sabers striking downward in the distance .....
2 hours plus a bit of change and down the road we went ....
water temp 77 , fish in herds all over the place , pitching and dragging the bait was key , best depths seemed to be around 10 to 12 foot deep . I did a bit better pitching a huge Go Go minnow towards the latter part of the outing ....
rocks seemed to be holding the better fish , some on brush as well ....
KABOOM is the word on the horizon ....
