    Default Half Dozen

Finally got back on the horse after a long lay off from crappie fishing. Our lake may reach historic low levels before the rains come. Most of the launch ramps are closed and not many people are fishing. I went to a few spots that have deep water and have produced in summer in the past. Caught one dink at the first spot after spending too much time there. Nothing at the second stop. Hooked a giant catfish that broke my hook at the bend. started catching, and kept at it until running out of light. Added 6 to my yearly goal, and am itching to get after them again. a half dozen that size makes for a nice meal, congrats on the hunt. If it was easy every time we wouldn't appreciate them as much.

Thank you guys for the nice comments and encouragement Half Dozen, looks like 187 left to catch to reach my goal. That's 30 trips at last night's catch rate!

he is likely in the fall area of thinking and early winter here , it can be really good .
dont sweat the low water conditions , drought is a thing of beauty for a crappie hunter , fish in a barrel is a good thing
    congrats on finding some fish

Congratulations on finding them, and doing some catching.
September thru March is my favorite part of the year.
