Sorry to hear you have lost some of your places to fish. Surely you will find some better spots

magnet fishing , that there is desperate stuff would be my thoughts ,scrappers have a tendency to be less than desirable folks for the most part .
in these parts they are most likely buying things they shouldn't with the cash from the trash .
one thing for sure , lots of public access points go away daily due to folks disrespecting the ease of access .

That’s the truth for a lot of them. Latest stunt I have been reading is that once again the low life’s are hitting cemeteries and making off with bronze markers for military veterans. The scrap dealers are just as bad for buying the stuff. Sad, sad.

they often strip out the big light poles wiring along the freeway in the more remote areas of town .
that there copper wiring is desirable stuff , they will even take it off somewhere and burn off the plastic before they hit the scrap yard .
heck one time I found 2 in the woods on my work place property stripping real estate signs for the aluminum .
had not a clue what them 2 gals were doing and when I asked hey what are yawl doing off in there .
out came a big pit bull so fast I barely made it back in my truck !
when the police got there they were long gone and when we went in to see what was the deal ...not only had they stripped a bunch of signs and left the metal frames on the ground in the woods ,they had also cut a big hole in the cyclone 8 foot fence into the neighboring company's property .

Magnet fishing? what the heck is that?

magnets at end of long line trying to find some metal stuff sounds like from postings. shows how desperate folks are to NOT want a job since EVERYONE is hiring today. I am sure if you ask nicely these good folks will gladly step aside. Right? LOL

I know several magnet fisherman. None of them are after scrap. They find lots of old antique stuff…along with new stuff. Guns….knives…..old signs….tons of stuff really. Just another hobby.

    Regards

No one makes a lot of money from it so it's not respected...... SAD.....

some of the docks around town have pretty good crappie under them , but about all of them cost money to get on .
the private ones are often really good , but it aint easy to get the ok to hit them .
