It could be that this particular image is one of the best I ever took , had a hard time getting the Nikon to focus as the blue stem and flowers and such were confusing her as to what EXACTLY to focus on , saw the doe as we drove down the road and just barely noticed the second set of ears in the grass near her knees .
She stood still just long enough with her young one for me to get a few images .
We were exiting stage left after a quick pit stop at one of the crappie docks over in west Texas on our way home from our spot in the woods . The fish were really soft on the bite and only managed 5 keepers and one under in 30 minutes .
The fish were parked real tight to cover and after about 20 minutes a fella dumped out a herd of children to run all over the dock and throw rocks in the water and the etc etc etc children do and them fish pretty much never touched a jig again after the arrival of the foot stomping rock throwing crew performance .
Mind you they were not there to fish , he sat on his tailgate drinking beer with their mom while they went wild child and when I gave up , they loaded up same time as I did and followed me down the dusty trail stage left
hope you enjoy the images![]()
