When I moved to Florida in 2003, I was introduced to crappie being called "speck's" in magazines or spec's by the locals, so naturally to fit in, that became the 1st part & many 2nd additions had been added to spec in some form or another before joining the site, so in enthusiasm to seek out specks, I came up with "detector" as the 2nd part...
