Installed Livescope on the boat a couple weeks ago but because I’ve been sauger fishing, yesterday was the first time I’ve used it.
Of course I’ve watched every video, read everything available but never fished using it.
I got on the water at 11:30 yesterday. The lake I went to was up 5 ft but they were drawing it down.
I went to a place I had caught crappie in the past and dropped the transducer in using Rickie’s DaDucer mount(excellent product). He is a great guy to do business with. Highly recommend.
Looked with amazement at all the fish movement everywhere. Like I’ve read, the screen lit up.
Now back to fishing.
First few drops with excitement, produced nothing. Still fine tuning depth, gain, distance and myself.
Premature jerking a bunch because my jig would disappear and my brain just said jerk dummy.
Still no fish. Seem to do that a lot.
THEN CAME THE THUMP!!!!
Yeah, I caught my first fish using Livescope.
Ended the day catching 46-47 crappie and 1 stripe bass. Only had 6-7 that measured over the 10 inch minimum size limit. Caught 16-18 off 1 tree. I released everything. Got plenty to eat in freezer.
Crappie fished all my life but it always under a bobber or pushing double minnow rigs.
Now I know what the CDC members are referring to by the THUMP!!!!
Thanks to CDC for being an awesome site that I am proud to be associated with.
