When it happened, I was irate, said a few new cuss words too, poor guy who slid into me locked his doors. Good thing it ran ok for a week of fishing in central Florida.

No noticeable damage to motor, although the lower swivel bearings seem to be showing more than they should. Name: 20231128_101432.jpg

I had something similar happen many years ago, to my 19' ski boat.

Someone pulled the chocks from behind my trailer tires. The boat didn't move until I went to hook up to my truck. I started jacking up the tongue, and the boat rolled backwards a little. Took me a second to realize that it didn't just shift, but it kept going. I grabbed it, but momentum had started. I literally left skid marks with my boots trying to stop it, but no chance.

It rolled about 100 feet, picking up speed the whole way until the lower unit almost split my neighbor's new Buick in two. Was like an axe splitting wood. Had the vehicle not been new, it would have been totaled.

Nothing happened to the lower unit, besides a bent prop and some scuffing. Ran fine until I sold it a few years later. They fixed her car as good as new, thankfully. I didn't park it on the hill in front of my house ever again. We suspected the neighborhood kids were seeing what would happpen. It was not pretty.
