I am going to attempt that this year but I'm addicted to the thump. So it is going to be hard to past up areas that I know will provide me a lot of crappie to catch, although most of them will be small. Last Spring I had days when I would catch 150-200 crappie each trip. Around 10% would be 11" or above. I was keeping 12" and above for myself and for some friends who can not fish.
I know there will be days when I will back slide and target these areas where I can catch large quantities of smaller crappie but I am going to try and force myself to stay away from these areas and fish the stumps, lay-downs and other areas that most crappie fishermen do not fish.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.
