There are those docks and then there is THE Dock . Some are more fun than others and some hold more fish than others .
The Dock I visited yesterday falls into the THE Dock category fairly often . That dock is often fun and holds numerous species thru out the year . I am quite fortunate to be blessed with a pass card and a 24 hour 365 invite to it .
I went at lunchtime yesterday and first drop until I got my line broke by a real big one I just totally ripped them crappie lips up . I got a tip they were biting and it was solid and I even sent my bud over there after work with a few of the magic tips to hurt them too .
The fish were around 10 to 14 deep in 16 to 17 feet of water all stacked up around bamboo condos we built last year . The takes were all over the map on bite intensity and more often than not the jig was deep in them . They seemed to like it moving real slowly and either took it slowly falling or slowly rising and or swept slightly side to side .
I used a natural color on a cheap store bought painted jig head . I am not warming up to my newest dock rod very well so far . It isn't fast enough me and it isn't stiff enough for my style of crappie ketchn and it has and continues to cause me to miss takes and lose fish .
But none the less , I put a pretty decent hurt on them at a 43 count in a bit over an hour. I am pretty sure I could have topped a fish a minute if I had one of my other rods I prefer . Sure love it when the fall kicks in and i suggest you go out looking and listen to tips from your friends as to what and where and when .
Thanks so much Ez for the tip and invite and hope that stomach feels better soon .
maybe we should try a fish taco episode next week ....just saying
