For the knot you mention, try the 3 turn surgeons knot, Randy (Alphahawk) uses it and does well with it, see his beastly drum video (Trout Magnet Man). I use a similar knot with 3lb braid that is the diameter of a human hair and 3lb FC, it is tied by Scott Bunch, a member here, and can be found on the Crappie Magnet Facebook page. He uses it with Gliss, a very slick braid and FC.
