If you're gonna use that reel line won't matter. I use them on jig poles but there are better casting reels with better drags.

Another vote for Gamma polyflex. Way better than Mr Crappie, SOS, etc. It is a copolymer line. I use the optic-yellow colored which is called "Panfish", but the Polyflex is clear (and hard for me to see). My second choice mono/co-p would be Slime Line, but they don't make a 2 lb test.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and

Another vote for the Trout SOS... I have a bulk spool and really like it...
Casting smaller jigs (1/64) for gills. BnM claims with the TCB and 2# line you actually cast a 1/64 lure.
For a reasonable cost reel, I use the Shimano Sienna reels, they are smooth and very well made.
It casts a 1/64 ounce jig 45 feet using a Ballistic FW 1000S-P spinning feel spooled up with .104mm diameter 2.3# test polyester line and 45 feet with .128mm diameter 3# test nylon line. BnM snt me 2 of those rods to test out and giveaway on my YouTube channel. The rod is almost identical to Trout Magnets TSS series rod which casts the same distance. The casting issue is not with the rod.....as others have mentioned you should look into getting a spinning reel....and I would get some nylon line that has a diameter of around .125mm.
