Anyone who has read my many posts have seen photos of a huge assortment of lures stuck to fish lips. This was meant to emphasize the simplicity of lure choices where so many are equally adequate to provoke fish to strike. The reasons fish strike them may be complex guesses, but the plain fact supported by photographic proof, is that 1. fish are stupid impulsive animals and 2. easily provoked using basic shapes in motion - what anglers refer to as lures and presentations. The example of a jig hook with a pipe cleaner wrapped around it that caught fish is a perfect example.

There are many complex reasons given why fish strike manmade objects - none that matter or that are provable. Simple is as simple does and that's all any angler, regardless of age, needs to know.
