What you see here, and what has been most productive for me, is the Arkie #350 in #87 color. The hook is the VMC 1/0 Inline single hook. I also leave the split ring on the front hook hanger for the "clicking" sound it makes. Not sure it is a plus or not, but it hasn't hurt my catch rate. Hook up ratio is as good as with any single hook jig I've ever used. The hook is not at all too big.
I go a step further and crimp down the barb. Barbs, in my opinion, are not needed unless you are catching for the pot. I'm strictly a CRP fisherman, so I like being able to release a fish unharmed. This modification has certainly increased my enjoyment out on the water.![]()
