Bubba Electric Knife question

My guess ya buying the NAME... that extra 50 bucks it cost is for BUBBA

I can’t tell you anything about the Bubba knife, but I did see it today at Academy for $99.00 right beside the Rapala, heavy duty, selling for $49.00. I have several other electric knives and I have never had a knife that comes even close to cleaning crappie like the Rapala, heavy duty.

. I went ahead and replaced my old AA with the bubba knife. I like it compared to the old AA I’ve fillet around 75 fish total with it and have not had any issues. The academy knife for 99 comes with two sets of blades and the bass pro knife for 125 comes with four sets of blades.

Thanks Guppy. I went over to Academy to look at the knife and saw that it only had two blades. Also I noticed that the blades had two slots to keep the blades together to help keep any flesh or scales from getting between them. When you were cleaning your fish did you have any issues at all? Thanks again.

I’ve only used the skinny blade. The two skinny blades in my kit only has one guide but I didn’t have any problems.

I prefer the blue and white pirahna. Blades will dull before motor goes. Have bought replacement blades and probly still have some in a package somwhere, Used the $10-$14 knifes from wal-mart for years but the plastic would get hot and melt effecting the trigger mechanisim. When fileting limits of large white bass and catfish for a week of trotlining you best have a quality knife. Have found that the cheaper ones will let you down. I now have a Rapala, been good, the Pirahna is still my go to knife and I keep an American Angler in DC. If I am cleaning just a few fish like lmb or med size crappie and smaller cats will still use wal-mart knife just to save the better knife for when I really need them.

My old Mr. Twister is 30 bucks. New blades are 10 bucks. It keeps going better than the Energizer Bunny. I have filleted 6,498,753 fish with it so far, salt and fresh water varieties (I counted them, may have made a small error).

No hundred dollar plus knives for me. If an electric knife slices easily through a fish, has sharp (and inexpensive) blades, and lasts and lasts and lasts... the crappie don't know if they were filleted with my 30 buck knife or someone else's 150 buck knife.
