I actually ice them then slice them. I don't know where the blood goes when theys get cold, but it ant in the fillet. Cold fish are much easier to fillet. When you reach my age, you appreciate "easy way". Ima not the emotional type, just not in my DNA. PETA hates me cause I skint Bambie.

Some people clip the gills before putting them on the ice. I don't like my ice bloody :-)

My sister in law saw me bang a fish on the head with my fillet knife and told me it was disgusting. Like being fillet alive wasn't an unfortunate thing to have happen to you.

I still have this mental picture of someone wielding around a pipe like a bunch of bees are attacking him. Killing fish before they run off. A a crowd has done formed a circle around a 50 year old over weight man using a pipe on some fish like Bruce Lee. I might be a little off track but I'd still stop and watch though. Might would speak to him after he got out all of his pent up aggression out but I'd probably be to scare to. Lol

fillet them alive garenteees fresh meat. when fish die they begin to rot. ice just slows the rotting process. Therefore I eat rottten fish.
