    you know brother its funny how a 16 crappie in one spot will just hit 1.5 or so and at another lake a few miles away a 16 inch crappie of the same species will go close to 2.5 …..
    some don't realize that the impoundments often regulate the weights ….

    Yes, you are right. On the other hand we have yet to catch an undersized (length) crappie in 1 1/2 years. I worry that means there is not a follow on crop. I am happy with 14 inch fish with shoulders like this.
