    Nice Scrat!

Forgot to mention that most of the 64 I caught after 12pm were in 4-8'. Thank god fish are cold blooded and don't necessarily go deep just because.
Few of the lakes I fish have depths over 15' and I catch far fewer fish in deep water. The key I've found is small finesse-action lures rigged on light jigs.
Fish can be anywhere where there is a variety of bottom contours and types, shade (at times but not always), weed edges or pockets and winds of at least 5 mph that help stir things up with clouds and/ or light rain the absolute best time to find fish accumulations at mid depth at or nearer the surface.

The the combination of the above factors insures results and the only way to discover the above is to rely on lures to find those locations.
Rather than move a lure faster horizontally, vertical has its moments because it gives fish a long look at what is twitching near its head which is why I've started using wacky rigged worms and grubs:

Lure quiver is everything when choosing lures and there are so many to choose from! Colors are a personal preference and a few will do 100% of the time as long as lure action and speed conform to the above standards and take note: all species bite, including crappie, once fish are found.

The above formula really does work! (as was stated in the video).
