I have 14' rods. I would get a rod rack of some kind. I made a shelf in my garage to store my rods on when not in use. They are 3 piece poles so to me they are much more of a pain to break down. When I had 12 footers i would break them down, put the hook in the end of the small part of the rod and then hold them together with gear ties. Now that I have 14s I leave them together in the garage and then just move them from the shelf onto the rod rack I installed on my boat. So much easier than messing with assembling them each time. I can sit in my seat at the front of the boat and take them out of the rod rack one by one and place them in the rod holders as I get them ready and baited.
