Know the feeling - congrats. What lure did you catch it on?
I caught this one on a hand pour cone-tail grub and 12 lb test braid with a 6lb test fluorocarbon leader.
This 5 lb cat was caught on a 3.5" Slider worm:
This one was taken on a Joker grub:

Bet that was fun time.
Nice!!! What did it weigh?
My son Ryno and I were bass fishing last summer. An impromptu father son tournament as he had issued a challenge of taking the old man to the woodshed. About an hour in he surrendered and laid down his weapon. Feeling a little bad, but wanting to keep him from being a quitter I told him to not give up, all he needed was two 8 pounders to be back in it.He picked the Lews combo back up I had bought him for his 16th birthday and pitched a shakey head with a junebug 10x trick worm up against the bank. started bringing it out to deeper water and then i felt him load up and set the hook. about 4 minutes and 30 or 40 yards down the levee later I netted a tail hooked, (still don't know how) 17lb catfish! He was pumped and learned a great lesson about not giving up! Pic doesn't really do it justice but for reference Ryno is 6'1" 280lbs...
