Oh we kept 15 of the black nose. I was referring to the short fish....less than 10 inches.....we had to release those. In our clear waters here.....which is where most of the black nose are......they get really thick. Many say they fight better than other crappie but there is no real evidence of that.....I think that comes from the fact they get rather large in these clear water reservoirs. I fully expect in about 4 weeks to get into a bunch of 14 inch black nose. Yes you can keep the brook trout. I did not want to clean any fish today and my nephew does not eat them. You are right they are good eating....I just have to remind myself not to eat the skin....LOL.
