I'm 70 and up. I tie them at home and take at least 4 rods with me. No way , on a bobbing up and boat , can I tie on a jig.

I didn't have any issues until an eye injury about 18 months ago. Now in some light conditions I struggle and focussing up close has become more difficult .

Besides the fine print, you could probably take a jighead and use it by looking at the eye. Just an idea.

I'm gonna get some sunglasses with readers. But for now I just have cheapies everywhere. Dollar Tree has readers that actually are only a dollar. I have them everywhere. Dang near every room in the house, tackle bags, boat glove box, vehicles. They are not too bad and I don't feel bad when I lose them or break them. Every few months I'll stop in and get another half dozen. I had laser eye surgery but can't see up close as I age. I have had plenty of $400 glasses (after my "exceptional insurance) and it is nice not to babysit my $1 readers.

You don't need to take anything to read with you when you go to pick out glasses. Just start putting on glasses, and then when you can read the prescription strength on the glasses (not the ones you have on), you know you've got the right ones!

I just got a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses from my eye doctor today. I have insurance that pays for lens and frames every other year. I don't need any correction in the lens, but got 2.0 readers built into them. The lens were the C39 material with anti scratch, polarized, gray tint and transitional bifocals, so trusting they will work for me.
