I remember years and years ago when my papa only had Uncle Buck's jig rods with the 2 metal tabs on the rod butt for winding and holding line.
I'm not sure but I believe I caught fish with them tabs on the top, on the bottom, to the left and to the right!

My spinning reels are down... Just ordered a bunch of baitcasters to switch out I the spinning reels(easier on my little girl, she can't get used to the left hand reel on a spinning) Baitcasters will be up... I just ordered 14 so now I either need more rods for the others or selling the spinning... Plus after this last weekend, we were pushing at only 2-3 ft deep on 14 ft rods, I'm done with spinning reels for that, I want to be able to hit the bar and let line out easier to land them

Orion_70 the Spinning reels comes in handy if you are going to do any long lining.
