Golden rule from BPS is 12.99. Screw it to the deck and go fishing.

Some strains of Crappie are too broad to fit in the EZ checkers.

Yep, especially the ones in Mississippi! You could get into trouble w/ the EZ checkers!

Empire 36" aluminum straight edge, screwed to the catch all seat, in the Jon Boat.
I think it was 3 or 4 bucks at HD. But rarely need to worry about fresh water measurements....

My golden rule went swimming in 30' of water on Jordan Lake, so I got a Hawg Trough from Austin Kayak instead. I like it a lot. I glued some 1/2" round foam insulation in the grooves under the board and it will float if it goes overboard. It measures fish from 8 to 30 inches in 1/4 inch increments. The center of the board is concave which helps hold the fish during measuring. It takes up a bit of space in a 12 foot kayak, but its never in my way.
