With the Powerdrive iPilot, if you leave it plugged in the gps stays powered on and will drain your battery completely flat. Learned that the hard way on my old boat.

I have a 60" and I buckle the arm down. Just seemed like the thing to do. I never unhook cables before charging. No problems yet! Heavily used for 3 yrs.

I never connect my foot pedal to my terrova, use the remote 100%. I also do not adjust my collar either, been fine for 2 years

good info I am thinking about a Terrova, I understand that if you use the transducer built in you can only use a 2d depth finder, no side scan or down scan. sounds like you need to use the built in transducer or the cable could get spun around shaft.
My Terrova does not have the built in 'ducer, so I have a HB 859 SI/DI mounted on mine.![]()

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
Use one of these and you'll never wrap up a cable or damage the transducer hitting an object.
