You might also check out the trout:

St. Croix Rods | Trout Series | Freshwater

    ... or the panfish series:

St. Croix Rods | Panfish Series | Freshwater

They're all about the same price, but you might like the action of one over the others.

I've bought Rods from $19 to $199 and if I was going to grab one spinning rod to dock fish with, right now, it would be an Ugly Stik Elite 6' UL. Think they're $40. Light weight and extremely durable, fairly sensitive. The only rod that I don't mind and trust to hold up when beating them on dock poles.

It's good to ask for suggestions on a rod but the most important thing is to find rod that is comfortable in your hand and balances well with the reel that you decided to get. You can't do that buying from an online store or ebay unless you hold the exact same outfit in your hand first. Once you find one you like if you aren't in too big of a hurry you can try and find the combo you want at a cheaper online price but then shipping prices may factor in there. I won't buy a rod I can't put in my hand first so I don't buy from overseas. You can also get a custom rod made here in the USA at a reasonable price. I've had several custom rods made for me and have been very happy with them all.

it depends on lots of factors it seems to me , I use light fast action stiff rods at 5 6 to 6 and all cost under a 100 .....some like soft actions some not so much , some like sensitivity other not so much . I have seen all sorts of things used on docks as dock rods and it seems most of the time its a preference thing to some degree ....
not knowing exactly how you do the majority of your dock angling I know not what to suggest ...some vertical ,some minnows ,some pitch and let swing back ....some like me sidearm under pontoons as well or just flick the jig with a stiff rod as well under the dock ...
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
